Big, huge, enormous ups to the supremely talented homie Jevon Quade for putting together what we think will be the best 6 minutes and 29 seconds of your life. With only a few weeks notice, Jevon had to employ all sorts of technical wizardry — wrangling photos, cutting video, making a soundtrack (with our input), and 3D-ifying it all — in order to publish in time for our big day. OUR VOWS

We’re hitched! Mission accomplished. There were hardly any complaints on our big day {whew}, but one of the major “issues” our guests had was that they couldn’t hear our vows during the ceremony. Honestly, that’s okay with us. In that moment, our vows were really meant for “just us” anyway. But we do owe our family and friends A LOT, and will respect their wishes. So below, please find our wedding vows {and let us know whose you like better. jk. Dianne will already tell you that Jaymar’s were better}. Thanks again, friends and fam. You’ve stuck with us for what seems to be a lifetime. Here’s to another.

You would think that after all this time, we’d be bored with one another. That by now, we would’ve lost the excitement, intrigue, or mystery of a newer or younger couple. But the truth is, to this day, I’m still so excited to learn new things about you, you still mystify me, and you still make me giggle (not just laugh, but giggle). And I’m still so impressed by the man I’ve watched you become and by the man you aspire to be.
I know this is going to sound weird, but even though we’ve been together for twelve years, the day you proposed to me was the day I felt you truly chose me…and a life with me. So today (even though I said, “yes,” then), I want you to know that I choose you, too. Every day. From this day forward.
You know that I have trouble with words like “vows” or “promises” because those words, to me, are for perfect people. So, as the imperfect person that I am, I want to offer you my truest intentions and what I hope my everyday practice will be as your wife and life partner.
I will honor and support you as an individual, first…with hopes and dreams of your own…then as a husband with hopes and dreams for our family. I want to be a better listener for you and learn to say “sorry” faster. I will be the balance you need and take care of you the way you’ve taken care of me all these years. I never want to take you for granted, and I will accept the challenges of marriage as they come and I will choose to go through them together with you. And finally, I will protect your solitude as much as I will protect our partnership.
Not many people can say that they grew into adulthood with their partner. Some might even find that a little gross. But the universe truly conspired to help me find you, and now I’m going to keep you.

“Love” seems like such a small word, considering what I mean when I say it. With that in mind, I love you.
I love that you love what I love, and yet you teach me to love things that I should learn to love.
I love that you are always up for an adventure. And today is no different. Except, it’s sort of a huge adventure, today.
I love that you’re smarter than I am.
I love that you challenge me to be a better me.
I love that you’re weird. Not in an off-putting kind of way. But in a pajamas-are-your-favorite-outfit kind of way. It’s weird. And I love it.
I love that you take care of me. You make sure that I’m warm at night and rested in the morning. You make sure that I’m well-fed and that I’m adequately inspired in my work.
And that’s why I’m going to take care of you.
I can’t promise that you won’t get sad or angry. But when you do, I’m going to take care of you.
I can’t promise that things won’t be painful. But when they are, I’m going to take care of you.
And I can’t promise that this won’t get tough. But when it does, I’m going to take care of you.
And I’m going to be kind to you, and never deliberately hurt you, and make sure that you know how much I love you, every day.
